Site<\/strong> on <strong>26 June 2009<\/strong> by the <strong>UNESCO<\/strong> World Heritage Committee.<br \/>The World Heritage natural site comprises nine mountain systems in the Italian Alps, a series of unique mountain landscapes of outstanding natural beauty: Pelmo and Croda da Lago (Belluno); Marmolada (Belluno and Trento); Pale di San Martino, San Lucano, Dolomiti Bellunesi, Vette Feltrine (Belluno, Trento); Dolomiti Friulane and d&#8217;Oltre Piave (Pordenone, Udine); Dolomiti Settentrionali (Belluno, Bolzano), a mountain group consisting of four main areas the Sesto-Cadini Dolomites, the Braies-Senes-Fanes groups with the Tofane, Cristallo and the Cadore Dolomites; Puez &#8211; Odle (Bolzano); Sciliar, Catinaccio and Latemar (Trento, Bolzano); Brenta Dolomites (Trento); Bletterbach (Bolzano).<\/p><p>The <strong>Belluno Dolomites<\/strong> therefore <strong>include<\/strong> <strong>the major Dolomite groups<\/strong>, such as the <strong>Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Civetta, Moiazza, Marmolada, Tofane, Sorapis, and Croda Rossa d&#8217;Ampezzo<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The <strong>Valbelluna<\/strong> includes the southern part of the province of Belluno, along the course of the river Piave, and is an area dominated by the peaks of the Schiara Group, Monte Serva and the Monti del Sole. These are difficult and sometimes inaccessible environments, but they become an attraction for those who love trekking in the high mountains far from mass tourism.<br \/>Part of the Valbelluna falls within the boundaries of the <strong>Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park<\/strong>, the largest &#8216;wilderness&#8217; area in north-eastern Italy, but there are also other precious nature gems such as the <strong>Monte Faverghera Integral Reserve<\/strong> and the <strong>Valmorel and Vedana biotopes<\/strong>.<br \/>The <strong>Alpe del Nevegal<\/strong> is the ideal destination for summer and winter holidays and offers trekking, mountain biking and horse riding. Those who enjoy cultural visits will stop off in <strong>Belluno<\/strong>, &#8216;the little Venice of the mountains&#8217;; or in medieval <strong>Feltre<\/strong>; or in <strong>Mel<\/strong>, a hamlet of the municipality of Borgo Valbelluna, which is part of the Club of the Most Beautiful Villages in
